Understanding labels
STP stands for straight-through processing; ECN stands for electronic communication network. Providers can use these labels differently. They are not a substitute for an execution policy.
A practical comparison
Compare total cost, margin requirements, minimum trade size and permitted strategies. Include the instruments and trading hours relevant to your approach.
Ask about execution
Check how the provider handles slippage, rejected orders and market gaps. An account name does not establish execution speed, liquidity quality or suitability.
Use the account comparison
QB Capitals presents STP and ECN account categories. Request the current written conditions and commission basis before selecting an account.
Frequently asked
Which account is best for everyone?
